The Grand Finale
Jo Ho Storyteller came to the schoolhouse on 6/28 to conclude this year’s summer reading program. She helped 23 kids catch “reading bugs”, and acted out and involved the kids in stories, including a somewhat altered version of The Tortoise and the Hare. Twenty-five children participated in the first day of the SRP. They got to learn about BUGS from Kristyn at the Topeka Zoological Park. The Madagascar Hissing Cockroach and millipede were petted by several of the kids, while the diving beetles and an Emperor Scorpion were off limits. …with Corning Library on Saturday, June 7 at the City Park. We will be handing out SR materials and then you can enjoy a presentation by Topeka Zoological Park! Not sure what they’ll all be telling us, but I’m fairly certain it’ll have something to do with bugs. Meet me there bright & early at 9:30 am!!
