Rules for Using the Computers

Due to increased demand for the library’s public access computers, we have established some general rules for using the computer.  Any patron wishing to use the computer must abide by these rules or privileges will be taken away.

  1. A time limit of 20 minutes is enforced for patrons wishing to use the computer. If other patrons are wishing to use the computer you will be asked to leave your computer when your 20 minutes is up.  If no patrons are waiting, you may be allowed to stay for longer than 20 minutes.  If you have been on the computer for 20 minutes or more when a patron comes in to use the computer, you will be asked to leave your computer. Patrons who have been on the computer the longest will be asked to give up their computers first.
  2. Printing can be done in Black & White for .$10/page or Color for $.25/page.  Both printers print B&W, and only the Lexmark X500 Series will print in Color.  Copies must be paid for when you retrieve them off the printers.  You will be expected to pay for all pages printed even if you did not intend to print them, so be careful when printing.
  3. I have no problem with others pulling up a chair to watch someone else on the computer, if the patron is okay with it.  But if you begin making excessive noise or behaving rowdy, you will be asked to leave.  There will be no tolerance for those disturbing others who are trying to work.
  4. Parents of children under 18 must sign a Computer Use Agreement before children are allowed to use the computer.  Ask the library director for this form.  Signed forms will be kept on file.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Introducing…

…Audio Books!

Corning City Library has had a small collection of Audio Books on Tape in the past, but we have not really ventured into the CD Audio Book world.

We decided to start a collection of Books on CD to determine interest.  Right now, we have these titles in our collection:

  • Body Surfing by Anita Shreve
  • Made in the U.S.A.by Billie Letts
  • Playing for Pizza by John Grisham
  • Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich
  • The Penny (Abridged) by Joyce Meyer
  • True Believer by Nicholas Sparks

Come check them out!  If interest in this collection is shown, we will buy more, and add to it!

Suggestions are welcome, as well.
