The library has two new computers set up and ready to go!
They were funded with money from the Gates Foundation Opportunity Online Hardware Grant. For information on what that entailed, click here.
Two Dell Optiplex 330′s have taken the place of the Dell Dimension 2400′s that were purchased in 2005. Worry not, though, the old computers will be utilized.
At this time, one of the old computers has been set up in the back for children’s games, homework projects, or any other activity that does not require the Internet. Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia, WorldBook Encyclopedia, and numerous games such as Sudoku, Crossword Puzzles, etc. have been installed.
Future plans for the computers after we move to the new building has yet to be determined. Rest assured they will all be utilized. Any suggestions are welcome as well!
With more of the grant money, we also purchased a Color Laser Multifunction Printer/Scanner/Copier/Fax. It will be set up when we move to the new building. At that time, the cost of color copies will increase from $.10 to $.25.
Stop by and check them out Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday!
